Donna Haraway: Story Telling For Earthly Survival
Donna Haraway, prominent philosopher, primatologist and feminist, has shaken social sciences and contemporary philosophy by stringing together winding reflections on theory and fiction. She became known in the 1980’s through her work on identity, while breaking up with the dominant trend, aiming to overthrow the hegemony of male vision on nature and science. The author of A Cyborg Manifesto is also an incredible storyteller who describes fantastic worlds filled with futuristic trans species.
Director Fabrizio Terranova visited Donna Haraway at her home in California. Based on conversations with her about her research and her rich reflections, he produced a singular film portrait, that immerses the spectator in a world where the distinction between science fiction and reality is not clear.
The film seeks to identify a thought in movement by mixing stories, archival materials and fables in the Californian forest.
